Southern Living Heirloom Recipe Cookbook

I know I talk about Gooseberry Patch cookbooks a lot...because I'm one of their biggest fans! But, just to fill you in on a  little secret, I collect so many other cookbooks too. As a matter of fact, I have so many, I had to pack some of them in boxes and store them in the attic. I just don't have enough storage space for them all. But, then it's like Christmas when I go through the boxes again!
I have a collection of Taste of Home, Best of Country Cooking, and Country Woman Christmas. I also love Southern Plate, Pioneer Woman, Paula Deen and Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade. I'll be sharing some of my collections with you from time to time through recipes. When I do, I will gladly give credit where it's due.

First off...I want to show you one of my newest cookbooks!

When I saw this on Amazon, I knew I had to have it. I was hoping it was everything the cover said it would be...and it is! I absolutely love this cookbook! There are 336 color pages full of southern family recipes, cooking tips, and cherished memories.

 Please excuse the bad photography.

I will, most definitely, share some recipes with you from this book! Right now, you can purchase this book from Amazon for $18.78. Not a bad deal, considering it's such an awesome cookbook!

This is my opinion only.
I am not being paid by the publisher to advertise this cookbook.

After Surgery Product Review!!

Did that title catch your eye?
I hope so, because I have got to tell you about this!

I have loved Glad Press'n Seal for several years now..
.as a matter of fact,
I would be the perfect spokesperson for this product!

What you read or hear about this product
in magazines or on TV is so true!

This wrap will keep the juices from running out if you were to tip over your bowl, cup, or container full of food or liquid. I wrap to-go plates when my children come to visit and take home left-overs. I wrap pot-luck meals...even if they are hot...and take them to church. I don't have to worry about them leaking if they were to tip in the car.  It's perfect to wrap up left over meats, or bread.
And one of my favorite things about this wrap?
You don't have to use very much!
A one inch over hang is about all that you need for each container or piece of meat.

Press'n Seal is available in freezer also..See the photo on the package above? I do the same thing....wrap up individual chicken breast, burgers, smoked sausage...you name it! You can wrap it and freeze it! I haven't ever had a problem with freezer burn either!

Ok..now you wonder..how is this an After Surgery Product Review?
I have four incisions in my belly from my recent surgery.
I wanted to take a shower, but can't get my bandages wet.
So, I cut out pieces of this Press'n Seal and laid it over my bandages.
I pressed the Press'n Seal to my skin and rubbed it smooth.
(Sorry..no photos for demonstration)
I took my shower and even washed and rinsed my belly!
After my shower, I dried my belly, took off the Press'n Seal and guess what?
There was not a single damp spot on or around my bandage!!!
I knew it!

Press'n Seal.....you came through for me once again!!

Product Review - Roasted Garlic and Parmesan

I enjoy finding new products that my family loves!
My son found this package of potatoes and brought it home from the grocery store one day. He likes to find packaged goods and then ask me if I can duplicate it with home made ingredients. I haven't tried yet making this one yet,  but I'm sure I can.  I will tell you though...these potatoes are worth buying. They are only $1.39 at our Wal-Mart. I needed something extra with our meal the other night and pulled these out.
They hit the spot and are sooo easy to make!
Just add 2 cups boiling water with each package!

During the Fall and Winter months, I make a home made Baked Potato Soup. Sometimes, I'll add a little instant potato flakes for thickening. But I tell you what...I'm going to use these potatoes from now on!
They are going to add so much more flavor to the soup!
