Taco Pie

from Gooseberry Patch,
has some of the best recipes.

I have so many pages marked in this book. They are all great recipes for the cooler months that will soon be here...a time that I'm looking forward to!

This recipe is another quick and easy one. When days are busy and I need a good meal on the table that is filling and delicious, quick and easy recipes are the ones I run to the most!

Angie's Taco Pie
serves 8

8 1/2 oz pkg cornbread muffin mix
1/2 lb ground beef
(I used 1 lb)
1 1/4 ox pkg taco seasoning
8 oz jar salsa
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
(I used 1 cup)

Prepare cornbread mix according to package directions.
Pour batter into a greased 10" pie plate and set aside.

Brown beef in a skillet; drain and stir in taco seasoning.

Spoon beef mixture over batter; top with salsa and cheese.

Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 20 -  25 minutes,
until cheese melts and cornbread sets.

 Oh so delicious!!

  7. Wοah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's sіmple,
уet effectіѵe. A lot of times it's very difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a great job with this. In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Internet explorer. Outstanding Blog!

  8. This is similar to the recipe I make, but I put the cornbread on the top. And add a drained can of corn before I pour on the cornbread. I'll have to try it your way next time!
