Spring has sprung here in the south....
and you can't have a good ol' BBQ
without an ice cold glass of Lemonade to wash it down with!
Last night was proof of that....
I grilled BBQ Chicken and served the Lemonade with it
and, of course, it was a big hit!
But....I also served Granny's Corn Fritters!
They are just as delicious as they sound!
I'm tellin' you...this cookbook has so many simple recipes in it.
I didn't know where to begin with the recipes
I wanted to share with you!
I'm going to share another recipe with you in just a bit...but first, I want to tell you where you can purchase this awesome cookbook

Now....on to the next recipe....
Granny's Corn Fritters
1 cup corn
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
salt to taste
(I also added a TBSP of sugar)
oil for deep frying
In a bowl, mix all ingredients except for oil; set aside.
Pour 2 - 3 inches of oil into a heavy saucepan.
(I used my deep fryer)
Heat to 365 degrees.
Heat to 365 degrees.
Gently drop batter by tablespoons into oil; fry until golden, turning once.
In the deep fryer, once one side is golden,
they tend to turn themselves!
I believe I may have made mine a little big,
but they turned out perfect!
Makes 3 - 4 dozen
