Bloomin' Onion Bread

I saw this bread on Pinterest and knew I had to try it!
The delicious looking photo led me to
web page where I found the recipe!

The sourdough bread is hard crusted,
and pretty easy to cut through.
But when the final product comes out of the oven,
it's soft, cheesy and oh so good!

BLOOMIN'
ONION BREAD
1 unsliced loaf sourdough bread - mine was rectangle.
1 pound Monterey Jack cheese, thinly sliced
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup finely diced green onion, with tops
2-3 tsp poppy seeds

Cut the bread lengthwise and width wise,
being careful not to cut through the bottom crust.

Place on a foil-lined (enough to cover bread) baking sheet.

Insert cheese between cuts.

Combine butter, onion, and poppy seeds.

Drizzle over bread.

Wrap in foil and place on a baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Unwrap.  Bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.

(I would suggest keeping the foil folded up
the side of the bread to keep the bread
from spreading too far apart)
