Early Bird Review - Meals in Minutes - Lemon Pastries

When the weather warms up, one of the first fruits I love to cook with is lemon. Nothing says Spring or Summer like lemons! Not only is it a pretty fruit, it's also a very tasty one!
There were so many recipes, such as this, in this new cookbook from Gooseberry Patch!
I had a hard time choosing which recipe to review!

Lemon Pastries
from
is one of those 'oh so tasty' recipes you'll enjoy
as a side for breakfast, for dessert
or the perfect little treat when company's coming over!

 Lemon Pastries
8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 T lemon juice
2 8oz tubes refrigerated crescent rolls

Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
(add extra if needed, to thicken)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 to 2 T milk

In a bowl, blend cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice; set aside.

Unroll crescent rolls and divide along perforations into triangles.
 Spread with cream cheese mixture.

Roll up crescent roll-style; bake on ungreased baking sheets at 350* for 20 minutes.
(watch carefully so they don't 'over-brown')

like mine did...

Let cool.

To make glaze:
Whisk ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
spoon Glaze over the tops before serving.

Mild lemon flavor.
Not too sweet.
Not too tart.
.......just right!

  26. I am always ranting and raving about Gooseberry Patch. In fact, I just bought one today to give to the speaker at our Annual Red Cross Heroes Award Breakfast (in Wilmington, OH). The speaker is with the Wounded Warrior Project, and he and his wife are expecting their first baby and he wants to be able to help her with cooking. I told him last night there was no better cookbook to have than one from Gooseberry Patch so I got him one to start their collection with. I love them!
