Slow Cooker Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal

There is nothing like the scent of Apples and Cinnamon.
Combine it with brown sugar and oatmeal...and oh.my.goodness!

That's exactly what you wake up to when you prepare this oatmeal recipe the night before.
So simple to put together before going to bed,
and you wake up to a hot delicious meal!

Slow Cooker Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal
2 Apples, peeled and sliced in to 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch slices
(I use Red Delicious or Honeycrisp)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups Old Fashioned Oatmeal (not instant)
4 cups water

Lightly spray the inside wall of your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
Add apple to bottom of slow cooker.
Sprinkle brown sugar, and then the cinnamon, over the apples.
Sprinkle the oatmeal over the apple mixture.
Carefully pour the water over the oatmeal.
DO NOT STIR!

Place slow cooker on low setting and cook for 8 - 9 hours.

When you remove the lid it will look something like this.

Stir oatmeal until all ingredients are combined.
Oatmeal will thicken as you stir.

Serves 4- 6

I thought the sweetness was perfect...
but one child added brown sugar and another added a tsp of sugar.
One taste and you decide!
